So, having heard this bit about possibly updating to 4.0 being a fix, I'm a little weary of trying that. From what I understand from reading other threads, updating to 4.0 with the HBC and these hacks successfully installed does not harm your system at all. It does make the hacks stop working...- drschplatt

I too am having this problem. I got all the way to step 6 and finished loading IOS51 but when I got to the final "press any key to exit" part, the wii froze up, the wiimote wouln't sync, and after a long time I did a hard reset.
