Hacking Wood R4 BUGS and Compatibility

Wood 1.26 and an R4iDS Gold (r4ids.cn) 8GB SDHC You can't hide your hidden files in the menu and changing UI themes will hang. "File system settings" menu only shows the soft reset keys setting. There are no "Show hidden files" or "Save extension" options. L+Select is also broken (that toggled...

    Hacking Wood R4i GOld 1.26

I have the same exact problem with v1.26 and an R4iDS Gold. If you use the _DS_MENU.DAT from v1.25, you can again hide your hidden files in the menu and changing UI themes will not hang. But you won't be able to change the soft reset keys using the 1.25 menu. L+Select is also broken in 1.26...

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

    Thanks. I kept using cIOSx 249 v20 base 56. Switching to 250 v20 base 57 solved everything.

Right. Works fine for me too.

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

FYI: I tested it on am empty drive with FAT & WBFS. I used: TEST00 = TEST 00 TESTAA = TEST AA TEST01 = TEST 01 TEST01 didn't exist on the drive, but the other 2 were named TEST 01 in the loader.

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

I always use my own titles file. Here is the data straight from my titles.txt: ... RGHE53 = Guitar Hero III: Custom - Beny Benassi RGHE01 = Guitar Hero III: Custom - Disk #1 RGHE54 = Guitar Hero III: Custom - Guitar Hero 2 RGHE85 = Guitar Hero III: Custom - Rock N' Metal RGHE52 = Guitar Hero...

I agree that some of the suggestions are too complicated, for example, changing +/- functionality based on context could result in accidentally deleted games.

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

In the FAT version, the titles.txt lookup is only using the first 4 characters of the ID, so all my custom Guitar Hero III games are showing up with the same title. The covers, banner music and actual games started with A are correct (6-character ID lookup), just the title lookup is wrong...

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

cfg48t4-fat is working great for me (fastest so far). The problem with old versions showing in the boot screen was a Preloader issue (doh!). Can the favorites/profiles limit please be made much higher than 64, since I have hit that limit for some profiles (party games & music games). Thanks.

I think a lot of games wouldn't work because of the delay,

Woohoo! v47/48 FAT is just as fast as WBFS! 6-8 seconds startup, and 6-7 seconds for writing gameslist.txt Thanks! BTW: The loading screen shows has the wrong version (for the past few versions).

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

~400 games on WBFS takes about 3-5 seconds with 249 or 222/223 (I can't tell if there is a difference). ~750 games on FAT takes 45-55 seconds without footer drive info, which is why I don't use FAT. Tried on 2 different USB drives: the drives really works hard during that load time. Also...

    Hacking Inside WBFS

I had to give up, since Cygwin is denying me permission to wwt, and I have no idea how to proceed. Thanks for the info though.

    Hacking Inside WBFS

Thanks. 1st post didn't help directly, but I get the idea that it will require a code change in a loader before it will work for most end users like me.

    Hacking Inside WBFS

Amazing stuff! 1) Is this currently compatible with any USB Loader? 2) What is the command line to format/init to allow more than 500 games on a partition? And is that compatible with any USB Loader?

I think the long "-" character also does this. I was trying to trick WBFSSynch (a WBFS file manager) into allowing dashes in the title, which it doesn't because ther are delimiters there. It does allow long dashes, but that seems to srews up other programs.

OK? Maybe I need to write this in a different way. USB Loader CFG is NOT reading titles.txt in my case (I deleted it to be certain). It is reading the name from the intenal name, and it comes out just as I changed it using WBFS Manageer 3.0. wbfs_file does not read the name to be the same as...

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

This is either a bug or a very bad inconsistency. I change my game titles using the WBFS Manager 3.0 rename function, rarely using titles.txt. USB Loader CFG displays the titles the way I changed them, but wbfs_file doesn't. wbfs_file uses the original title when it creates the txt file and...

use the wbfs_file.exe program. Type "wbfs_file.exe F: ls > c:\path\filename.txt" without quotes, where F is the WBFS drive, and you specify the path and name for the output file.
