This works for me it seems. Using a WD 1TB Essential. Had crashing in Galaxy, but after applying the fix I played it 3 hours straight with no problems whatsoever.- knuttan

Why, thank you for that suggestion Ran the command: hdparm -S251 /dev/hda This sets the standby timer to 5 1/2 hours, and is the highest possible. I really shouldn't be having gaming sessions that long, so it should be plenty! Been playing Galaxy for about an hour now and no crashes so far...- knuttan

I seem to be having the same problems with my Western Digital 1TB Essential, which is also listed as working in the compatibility wiki. That would probably solve the problem. I've read about users doing this with a small script to counter drives spinning down when used on a computer. Just hope it's possible with the launcher.- knuttan
