Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

This could be a corrupted NAND issue for various reasons. Rebuild your NAND to confirm, and then test it. If the issue persists, there may be another hardware problem with the console.

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I may not have installed 1,000 modchips, but I can confidently assure you that if the CLK signal is interrupted or the trace is cut, the screen will remain black—modchips or no modchips. I've repaired around five consoles with cut CLK tracks (tracing under the eMMC), and in every single case...

Dont install in the front. If he knocked off them in the first place these is no way for him to be able to install new ones, he will make a bigger mess.

Another switch arrived with ripped cap pads on the CPU. I want to give a big thanks to abal1000x for sharing the alternate soldering points for the MOSFET. It's amazing how it continues to impress me with its instant boot times on v2 and oled consoles!

As jkyoho said this is the best place. No need to cut anything with this placement.

These adapters are horrible (both of them) ! You will always have problems with such adapters. You must disgard them and use the correct ones.

I wish you were correct but i dont think so.

look at his pic. Its obvious either the temp is too high or he keeps the soldering iron too much time on the flex. Or the flux doesnt do its job so it makes it harder for him to solder.

i must see the adapter point that touches the emmc ball under the microscope in order to tell you if the adpter will do. This adapter with one anchor missing is not reliable anymore, the tension might not be enough. IF you have the correct adapter, even if it has a slight angle difference there...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Correct. If you measure with rp connected the values will be different. Reversing the probes will give you different value too so have that in mind. Also measuring according to my opinion is completely useless. If you short dat0 with dat1 no measurement will save you. For a thousand time i will...

Ohh that would be really nice in order to prove what i state. The best example. And for those who want the correct ones here is a link : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007608016260.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.11.21ef1802vzJSxm just got some and all are the correct ones...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

A lot of people dont want to rely on dat0 adapters, dont want to pay for them at all and they cant order from 5 different aliexpress stores, praying every time for the seller to send the correct ones. There are countries that the shipping costs 10 times the cost of 10 adapters. I completely...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I dont speak with theories. I speak from personal experience. As long as not even one switch came back and all have dat0 adapters the tension in more than enough. Maybe people that use them dont use enought tension. I use as much tension as needed just before it can bend the adapter. And again...

Just because again you mislead. You can check at the pics what surface of the pad covers the header when it is closed. The contact point is almost like a needle tip and again you have a solid connection exept for certain situations when you dont have hight quality flex cables as i stated before...

So you also agree that the headers on modchips and every thechnician that has ever used them has no pride in their craft. These are not soldered right? Really i have no idea what i do right and what you do wrong with these adapters. It is not rocket science. After about 150 oleds that not even...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

There is a very distinct difference between a gold plated pad that has a high tension against a soldering ball and a soldering connection at both ends. And this is the main reason that all dat0 adapters failed at early implementations. Some thought that applying solder at the gold plated leg of...
