You could try putting the kingston in the bottom usb port and put a different usb flash in the top port. Sounds crazy but this works for me to get my hard drive consistently recognized on usbloader 1.5 using ciosrev10.
If I plug my hd in the bottom usb port and my flash drive in the top port the harddrive is listed twice in /dev/ehc but the loader works fine.
If I plug my flash drive in the bottom usb port and my hard drive in the top usb port then the flash and the hard drive are listed in /dev/ehc but the...
I've found a workaround that is slightly better than the swap trick and seems to work for me.
1) Plug the harddrive in the bottom usb port
2) Plug a usb flash stick that is FAT formatted in the top slot
Leave them both plugged in.
When I do this my hard drive is detected immediately every time...
I've been playing around some more and found a few interesting things.
1) If I call USB_GetDeviceList I can always see my device vid and pid listed even though it is not detected by the loader init/USBStorage_GetCapacity routines.
2) I tried calling USB_ClearHalt for the usb endpoints and they...
Small bugfix request:
The Wpad_Init() routine should be moved to before the jump to out. If my drive is not detected I can't use the wiimote to restart the system as the init routine is jumped over.
Tried removing Fat_MountSDHC() until after harddrive detection-> No noticeable change in detection probability.
Tried sending a fixed size from USBStorage_GetCapacity-> Get a "No WBFS partitions found" message.
Anyone know where the lsusb source for the wii would be?
The loader order is basically:
calls IOS_ReloadIOS(249);
calls WBFS_Init(WBFS_MIN_DEVICE);
which calls -> USBStorage_Init();
then -> USBStorage_GetCapacity(§or_size);
The failure occurs when the get capacity routine returns a zero.
I just tried the lsusb program and the usb device seems to...
I've also been playing around as my enclosure (vantec nextstar cx) occasionally is not detected. It's kinda weird as either it is detected within the first 4 counts or within the last 10 counts of timer but never in the middle.
I've tried all sorts of delays and loops to the init/open calls but...
I had the exact same problem installing on 4.0u. Eventually I directly copied the hack.ini for 4.0u from the wiki (make sure you grab the correct version for your system menu), added a extra space (carriage return) at the end and reinstalled. Then the hacks installed no problem.
Thanks for the advice. I actually picked up the Vantec NexStar CX which is a 2.5 verison and a Seagate 2.5 320GB drive for a lot less money than buying the Seagate Go. I don't need a power cord and everything seems to be working okay so far (I added this combo to the wiki).
jokes aside, anyone else who saw the northern lights tonight, what did you think, i thought they were beautiful for a while, before it went to a vague pink
maybe later they'll pick up again
