Hacking Windows 7 driver for EFA Linker II/Linker/Longcard?

I know it's a standard but this particular end is pretty unique, and I don't want another one to heat up like this.

Hacking Windows 7 driver for EFA Linker II/Linker/Longcard?

Yeah, they have a restocking fee and it was dirt cheap to begin with. I don't want to risk getting another faulty cable though, I wonder if other manufacturers make this type of cable.

Hacking Windows 7 driver for EFA Linker II/Linker/Longcard?

I got that cable but it gets painfully hot in literally two seconds when hooked into any of my USB ports, and the long card. Is this the card or the cable? The original cable was silver and looked very shielded.

Hacking Windows 7 driver for EFA Linker II/Linker/Longcard?

Possibly but it wouldn't be recognized by Windows 7 x64 because of the driver issue. Follow up question is case anyone knows: I lost the stupid 3" long cable that came with the card and am looking for a compatible replacement. Will this cable work? It looks like it from the male end, looking...

Hacking Windows 7 driver for EFA Linker II/Linker/Longcard?

yeah it's not a huge problem as I have 12 gb of ram, but I'm lazy and was hoping someone sorted something out in the intervening years since I got the cart. oh well :)

Hacking Windows 7 driver for EFA Linker II/Linker/Longcard?

Hey all, I have a 1Gb "EFA Linker II" which I suspect is a clone of the EFA Linker since I don't recall the II having a 1Gb model. Anyway, is there software and drivers to get Windows 7 x64 to read and write to the card? As it stands I have to boot into a virtual windows XP machine to get it...

Homebrew R4 SDHC keeps making saves

Hey thanks that seems to be working. When I initially formatted the card I did so with Windows' "Quick Format" option checked, which might have been a poor choice. This time I did it without that and it took way longer but seems to be not creating duplicated files. Much appreciated.

Homebrew R4 SDHC keeps making saves

I just got an R4 SDHC for my DS Lite (it's the revolution upgrade version without the (i) mark or version explosion marker on it, but it is legit I checked the serial number) and it works fine except for one small issue: While playing SaGa 3 whenever I load the game it says "creating save" and...

Hacking Parasite Eve - Is there a version that works on 6.20 PRO-C?

I know I got it to work when I loaded a self-made eboot (using psx2psp 1.4.2) when I was using temporary cfw (6.60 PRO-C2) but now I've got perma cfw (6.20 PRO-C fix 3) and no matter what eboot I download or what images I use to make my own eboot, it won't work. The playstation splash screen...

ROM Hack Official Mother 3 Translation Thread

I once tried playing the 1.0 patched version on my EFA-Linker II but after 20 hours or so my save got corrupted and I've been too scared to try again. If I use the new 1.1 patch and SRAM patch the rom in GBATA (didn't do this the first time either), do you think it would work or corrupt my save...

Hacking EFA-Linker II is not detected

Excellent. Once again thanks for all your help. Has worked like a charm since I last posted. I've flashed it 3 or 4 times since, no problems. I'm still not confident enough to try Mother 3 on it again (shortly after I got the cart I loaded nothing but a version 1.0 translation patched, non-SRAM...

Hacking EFA-Linker II is not detected

So do you think the battery is the reason why it isn't being recognized by the client? I tried using both the Long Card Client, and the EFA Simple (simple as possible) clients. Or does it have to be plugged into the GBA while the GBA is turned on? By the way thanks a lot for all your help...

Hacking EFA-Linker II is not detected

Yeah I definitely have the fake one. Shoot. At least now it makes sense why it wasn't drag and drop at all because there was a thread about this cart that made me want it because of the drag and drop interface and the RTC. And now finding a good GBA cart is nigh impossible.

Hacking EFA-Linker II is not detected

I had it working by using those drivers but since I thought they were only for the real EFA-Linker II I thought they might be the reason it was crashing so I uninstalled it completely and started over. EDIT: Alright! The green light is on in the XP VM. When I open the client it detects nothing...

Here's a screenshot. This is after the button being grayed out and me reinserting it. (I changed the location to the desktop for easier access. shouldn't matter.)

Hacking EFA-Linker II is not detected

yeah it's checked. I point it at C:\EFA_driver (which is where I unpacked the LongCart compressed file set) but Windows has the "OK" button grayed out. What file am I supposed to be having it look for in that long cart folder?

Hacking EFA-Linker II is not detected

the client crashes when i tell it to format the cart. then i plugged it back into my GBA (sorry this topic is accidentally in the wrong forum, my mistake) and my old roms i had loaded from a year ago were still there. when i went to install the drivers from the EFA-linker ii files you have up...
