Alright if anyone out there is still reading this thread and is interested, I have a few updates. I'm in the process of updating the main post with all the new information I have discovered and which was discovered in this thread. It is possible to change nearly any aspect of your familiar, but...
Very cool to see people continuing research and making tools for this while I've been busy with work and life. I was working on my own editor before I had to focus on my job, so I'm happy that others stepped in. One thing I would like to see is more visuals in the editors. I worked out a way in...
I explained it in detail here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/ni-no-kuni-us-save-modification.341864/page-5#post-4544127
If there's anything you're not clear on let me know, but it's pretty straight forward as long as you mind the positions.
I haven't done any searching for a celestial sign offset, but I know one exists for the game genie if you have one.
As for the t2b format, I noticed in the null terminated strings list that the strings lined up with icon names from data/menu/add_ico_c/, so I figured it was pointing to the icons...
A few of us are putting on a lot of effort to make a comprehensive wiki, if you're interested you should join in at http://www.shiftlimits.com/forum
I just started preliminary work on a parser based on what I and Supercool330 worked out. I'm probably going to, among other things, make it output...
Aaah, that makes a lot of sense. I actually didn't notice the entry names at the end of the file, I was more focused on thinking about logical ways the programmers would have set up the data. This makes it a lot easier to sift through, and looking at other similar files it seems the structures...
I have located some consistent pointers. I don't think my previous theory is correct. This is the structure for White Bread:
19 AE 86 8C 01 01 FF FF 00 00 00 1B A3 EE 69 33 0A 55 55 05 87 79 21 FE FB 89 1F BC 00 00 00 14 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 64 00 00 00 00 E4 9B 5B 10 00 00 00 00 65 0C F1 8A...
I noticed a lot of "smart" strings (I'm not sure what else to call them, that's what I call them while programming), strings that make certain situations make sense in the English language, like receiving one item vs more than one item (Received an Omniseal vs. Received Omniseals). I didn't have...
It should be noted that this is for use with the Game Genie PS3 save editor product, and doesn't really apply to the methods I talk about in my main post.
Oh I completely misread your post. Yeah I have seen that byte change, I don't think it has anything to do with assigning weapon equips. So far it hasn't been relevant to anything I've been tinkering with, but if you notice a pattern let me know
I don't think I've seen it change, but you could be right. I've been wondering how the inventory deals with weapons that are equipped, because the inventory shows it as 0 if my memory is working right. The byte could have something to do with that.
That's awesome Supercool330, that's exactly what I was hoping for.
If anyone is interested, it's not hard to actually add items to your inventory instead of swapping them. You just need to make sure you follow the pattern.
The red FEFFFFFE1B is the start of the inventory block. I don't...
I don't have a hacked PS3 unfortunately, I've been using resources downloaded from various sites. Perhaps I can contact someone who might have decrypted those files already.
I've been trying to pull image content out of the game files for my own purposes similar to what you are talking about above but I'm not able to get a final colored image. Just a greyscale and a color palette that I'm not sure how to combine right now. On my searches I was keeping an eye out for...
Oh yeah, I must have misread it sorry haha
Some people on another forum have gone through and gathered a fairly comprehensive list of Familiar IDs, which is fantastic because I was dreading doing it myself. I still have a bit more information to figure out about Familiars, but having the IDs...
I found a post from someone who had gone through and found a bunch of the key item ids. It's incomplete, but definitely useful for getting some of the special DLC-only familiars:
EDIT:
That ID is 1 character too long to be valid, are you sure that's correct?
The second part is from the start of the character block, rather than the entire save file. I'm starting to change my information to be based off of when blocks begin because almost nothing in the save file stays at the same offset throughout the length of the game.
Yeah actually they do, I...
It's not the movies or games downloads that I would worry about, like breaking into networks, downloading encrypted things, spying on network traffic. I have seen so many "Top Secret" seals on files when I was a kid
I was obsessed with finding UFOs, a surprising amount of US files where stashed on computers in other countries, China back in the early 90s omg sooo much
