Homebrew The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (Nintendo Switch port)

Did you ever get to look into the keyboard shortcuts? I've tried many combinations in the ini file and nothing seems to work on the Switch. I guess the shortcuts are for keyboards only.

Homebrew RELEASE Fizeau - Adjust color of your Switch screen

I have not had any crashes! I've been playing/charging/sleeping my device several times for varying amounts of time over the past two days as well. Your fix looks good, thank you!

    Homebrew Redesigned hbmenu layout (theme)

Thanks! I have an OLED too. No one is in the HB menu long enough for battery savings to matter :) But it's a good thought ;)

ROM Hack Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 60 FPS patches

Bah...I've tried emulating MGS2 on other budget handhelds and every time, it struggled on the first scene when you're in the rain on the ship, I just gave up and figured the device can't handle it. FINALLY got inside the ship and it was a smooth 60 FPS!!! Super happy to see it running at 60...

    Homebrew Redesigned hbmenu layout (theme)

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! The black background was a bit harsh in terms of contrast to my eyes, so I switched it to a grey :)

Switch OLED missing the CMD capacitor

I can't remember this...you quoted my post from 2 years ago, lol. But yes, whatever resistor I soldered on worked just fine. Hope you didn't break something else... Might as well buy the 4.5k and try that too... I updated my post from 2 years ago adding this: These people seem certain it's...

    Fire Emblem Engage + ReverseNX

Make sure the tape wraps under and covers the pins.

    Fire Emblem Engage + ReverseNX

Thanks! Ha....can't believe this actually worked! Playing FE:Engage in handheld mode but spoofing docked mode with ReverseNX-RT, and it works! Enjoying higher resolution images (portraits are sharper)!!! I just carefully cut a tiny piece of kapton tape and covered pins 5-10 (I hope). I'll check...

Homebrew RELEASE Fizeau - Adjust color of your Switch screen

Deleting my posts. Found the issue raised on Github re: Fizeau and 14.0.0. Downloaded the build there and it's now working. Thank you for the temporary fix/workaround. Much appreciated :) This tool is amazing. I can't live without it anymore! The slight saturation boost is candy to my eyes :D

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

Nice! Yes....this chip has poorly designed cables, but I got it working fine and it's still running great.

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

Point D in the lower left? I tinned solder on the bottom side, then heated it from the top to melt the solder underneath and connect to point D.

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

I had this issue once, I forgot to plug the WiFi antennas back in :) the two plugs in the middle of the big heat shield before you put the back cover on :) I hope it's that!

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

You have the SD with payload.bin plugged in? Check the CPU solder points (two of them) just check the connector on the right side bottom of the chip and probe for continuity of two points (since there are two points on CPU) with a multimeter.

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

They labeled it wrong. The upper D point is actually C. It connects to the DAT0 eMMC point. :)

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

Thanks! :) Yes I took my time and made everything perfect :D I think I saw that link but didn't go for it because there was no picture :( I could've asked them for one I guess. Oh well, it's in the past. It's cheaper too!

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
