Hacking Zelda BotW hack request: Invisible or transparent hearts? No HUD?

You can either repack the game or just FTP the altered files. We've managed working .pack repacks, but the files inside those, Yaz0 compressed SARCs as .ssarc, .sblarc, etc, don't seem to repack properly with existing tools. More info at my thread. By the way, that was...

Hacking How to Extract and Edit subtitles files? ( Zelda Breath of the Wild)

If you look at its header with a hex editor it's Yaz0 compressed SARC. Been trying to repack this game's Yaz0 for a while now, managed to run the game without crashing recently thanks to some help over at my thread but something goes wrong still. This stuff is beyond me, unfortunately.

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

I suppose it's working as the repacks aren't crashing, but none of the values I tried worked.

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

Same here, strange. It returns that regardless of input, on both edited and original scripts. I'll try reinstalling, I guess. Edit: Never mind, copying and pasting it messed with formatting. I've managed a repack without crashing, but it's all garbled up in game. It's probably the padding...

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

I see. I've repacked with @mariosonicds' fork and it worked. I think we're stuck until someone knowledgeable takes a look at what makes this game's Yaz0 tick.

Hacking [Tutorial] How to "Undub" Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I believe that's the padding, are your repacks not working? I got Bootup.pack to work. Try @mariosonicds' fork of Uwizard or the script mentioned over at my thread. Probably, but it wouldn't save that much space. Each language is around 100mb.

Interesting. I wonder if these lines are actually inside the rpx?

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

I've managed working SARC repacks with Uwizard, the problem are the Yaz0 compressed SARCs inside them. Game hangs on its initial loading. Thanks though, that script might come in handy.

The ssarc? Yeah, it's on a region tagged file. I meant everything else, I compared the three releases.

Hacking [Tutorial] How to "Undub" Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Check the header with a hex editor. SSARC is Yaz0 compressed SARC, also known as SZS. Uwizard can unpack it, but not repack it properly for this game. Yeah, it's weird. Since all the regionless files are identical, it would mean one file holds these lines for all languages.

Hacking [Tutorial] How to "Undub" Zelda: Breath of the Wild

SARC repacking seems to be working fine. It's the files inside them, Yaz0 compressed SARCs, that won't repack properly. Give it a try. Edit: Oh, I see it now, that's Yaz0. Sorry. Another Edit: Have you tried simply switching the files and repacking the PACK? I can't test at the moment.

Hacking [Tutorial] How to "Undub" Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The files are all there on the Voices folder, but the game seems to load them from somewhere else, presumably one of the regionless .pack (SARC) files. Yaz0 compressed SARC/SZS seems to be the common format inside those and I've yet to manage a successful repack, I made a thread on the subject.

Hacking Zelda breath of the wild - Portuguese Localization ?

I've managed to repack Bootup.pack (SARC) with Uwizard. Try mariosonicds's fork, seems to be more up to date. Granted I haven't replaced anything on it yet and just tested untouched files, but it should work. I suspect you'll need to repack Yaz0/SZS.SARC files eventually, so keep an eye on my...

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

Okay, to give better context, these are the results with both the original Uwizard and mariosonicds': content\Pack\Bootup.pack (SARC) Layout\Common.sblarc (Yaz0 SARC) Original Common.sblarc: 3.770 KB Untouched Repacked Common.sblarc by mariosonicds': 12.567 KB Untouched Repacked Common.sblarc...

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

FlappyFalco suggested Wii U Zip, couldn't open these SZS. I don't think that's it, I've tested unpacking and repacking the files untouched and while SARC works, SZS doesn't. Either way, how would I check for padding?

Hacking [Tutorial] How to "Undub" Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Regarding the missing lines not on Voices, I tried comparing the games' files. Everything is exactly the same except for the regional files (USen) and they don't seem to be there. Made a thread looking for help if anyone's interested...

Hacking Help needed repacking Breath of the Wild's Yaz0/SZS (sblarc)

I'm new to Wii U modding and I'm looking to replace the game's logo with the original. From what I can tell it's located at "content\Pack\Bootup.pack\Layout\Common.sblarc\timg" as Logo2D_00_JPja^d.bflim and Logo3DGameTitle_00_JPja^d.bflim. Tried unpacking, replacing and repacking everything with...

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I honestly can't recommend any of the big 3 this years I'd say buy a rog ally z1 if we're being honest
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Honestly after the PS3 and 360 I just went full PC
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Every games basically cross platform they only have about 6 titles making it worth the $600 price tag
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
nintendo needs to up their game soon
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah even bt support for Xbox one controllers are just as easy as pairing
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Xinput and 360 dongles were a driver nightmare
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
