Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Right, I used the CIA installer method to get to EmuNAND 9.5, so all of that is good now. I am still getting a major issue sometimes when I select a ROM though. I select Cooking Mama for instance through the select menu, then it seems to attempt to load it for a second, then the screen freezes...

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Three tests so far: - Ocarina runs fine in standard EmuNAND boot. - Super Smash Bros. does not run in standard EmuNAND boot (Still on EmuNAND 4.5 so that's why I assume this is happening) - Neither Cooking Mama EU or Smash Bros US works in bypass update spoof mode to update EmuNAND with...

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Partially fixed this issue, but now I am told that "this game cannot be used" even though I am using an EU game to try and update an EU console.

I'm just getting problem after problem with this so far. I have EU Cooking Mama Bon Apetit, which has the same firmware. I used the DPAD UP when launching technique as previously described in another post. However, when I try to pick cooking mama from the select menu, the screen freezes and...

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Sounds good. I just don't understand this step: " then start BigBlueMenu from the gateway multi-rom menu or just launch it from the home menu if you already have it. Then go to the "9.5.0-23" folder." Where exactly is this BigBlueMenu application? I have the folder on my micro SD, but I only...

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Great, that sorted that, thanks guys. One final issue I'm having. When I try to run Win32 Disk imager, regardless of it I try exFAT or FAT32 SD card type, I get a pop up saying it might corrupt a physical device, and it does just that every time. Any idea why this is happening? And is there any...

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Also, just randomly now after putting my first file on the SD card, if I try to boot into Gateway Menu OR Gateway Mode I am getting a pop up saying "An error has occured forcing the software to close. The system will now restart". All I did since it last worked was store one ROM on the SD and I...

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Grand so, much obliged :D. Is DPAD UP a command to allow it to update off the games or something then? Can't find much documentation on the shortcuts.

Hacking Help! I may have bricked my NAND

Great, thanks! Formatting emunand back to 4.5 as we speak. I assume you mean hold DPAD up instead of Left Shoulder when I am choosing User profile?

Hi folks, Looking for a bit of help. Just bought a Gateway 3ds. I was following this video (aswell as the official Gateway Manual): I have gotten as far as installing the exploit on the blue cart, installing my launcher, backing up my SysNAND (It's a 4.5.0.10E if that will make any...

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hey folks, couple quick questions regarding Gateway 3DS from someone thinking of purchasing a 3DS and a flashcart / someone who had plenty of experience with NDS carts (Cyclo Ev): 1 - A lot of the threads and information seem to be conflicting on the firware the cart will work up to. If I...

Games are getting huge nowdays, like 125gb a game (4k games anyways). I feel sorry for players that only have a 512gb hd. (Series S)

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

also @BigOnYa im making some progress on my gdevelop project, implemented various mechanics

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player. (PlayerDirection)
