Hardware Misc Tutorial DSi/DSi XL Problem and Solution Master List (In Progress)

Yes, I did swap over the ribbon as well, and I did already check for and clean off corrosion inside and around related components like the ribbon connector. Yes, I already did a reflow on the fuses, charge port, and em1, and I already checked for voltage getting the the other side of EM1. No...

Hardware Misc Tutorial DSi/DSi XL Problem and Solution Master List (In Progress)

I'm getting the "Charge light turns on for a few seconds, then turns off (not flashing)" on a DSi XL which I bought broken to attempt a repair. Came with no signs of life, which is not what the seller described and I found corrosion around the battery terminals and parts of the power/dpad board...

Homebrew [Beta] NTR 3DS corruptions plugin

No, because that's not how memory corruption works. It's corrupting certain sections of RAM, not any part of the eMMC or SD card. You'll get crashes but nothing that would persist a reboot.

    Picofly AIO Thread

Yes, that error code is related to RST, which would be the lower chunk of that yellow ribbon cable if I'm reading the pinout for lite install correctly.

Nice. And how does passthrough get used? My best guess would be holding VOL+ while plugging in USB with the system off. It's strange that passthrough for picofly is so undocumented.

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

I'm hoping someone at some point gets either a schematic or a bare-board pic of the v2. Would love to check the differences and try to modify a v1 to work exactly as a v2. At the moment cutting the left-most trace in half and soldering a button works to eject the game and move to the next game...

    Modchip vs flashcart

Yes, but that's still better long term than losing, say, a limited collector cart completely. I could reacquire it but at an elevated cost if I lose the actual physical. Should I lose my Mig, I can keep the physical cart still but repurchase a digital copy for cheaper. I don't carry my entire...

    Modchip vs flashcart

Both. SysMMC cfw to play online, and using flashcart for backups of mutliplayer/online games. EmuMMC cfw to play offline backups installed directly to system/SD. All backups dumped from my own carts, which means minimal ban risk for the flashcart. I only have the flashcart as a means to carry...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

There's plenty that's known, just because you don't know and haven't bothered to look doesn't mean anyone sharing info is "making guesses". For example, this was posted by SciresM in just the first year of the Switch. Most of what people generally mentioned getting sent via telemetry is...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

It's a well known fact that the telemetry data is logged when the switch is offline and then sends that logged telemetry data when the switch is online again https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/faq/ As for the fact that it logs cart insertions/ejection, I can't recall the exact source...

    Picofly AIO Thread

I noticed newer picofly boards on aliexpress (the ones that seem to be cloning v6s) have D+, D-, and vol+ pads on the board. Are these wired up in the same way as D+, D- and vbus on the instinct v6s for USB passthrough? If not, what are those pads for? Can't find much info for this board in...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

Playing online or offline doesn't matter. That information is still sent via telemetry. Nintendo goes so far as to log and send details like how many times you've ejected cartridges. Which was what I was saying, even with that method of using your own donor cert, it's a huge ban risk as it would...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

There are already reports of bans, and even if there weren't yet it would be so incredibly easy for Nintendo to detect that with their telemetry. Just would have to add a new check server side if any certs are detected being used by multiple game IDs. With the telemetry data that's already being...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

You can go backwards with the MigSwitch v2 as well. Short press for forward, long press for backward 1717781409 I've been playing online. All of my ROMs are my own legitimate dumps. In theory as long as you only use your own legitimate backups, there shouldn't be a ban risk but we'll have to...

Hacking POLL: What Switch do you have?

Unpatched day 1 model Running latest firmware while I take a break from CFW, plan on getting back into things once my uncle who works at Nintendo brings me the Super Nintendo Switch he's been working on so I can move all my stuff over.

Hacking MaxConsole Posts photos of the new TX Switch modchip

Oh cool TX is finally doing what they used to do and actually making something unique via modchip. I'm curious what the difficulty of installation will be. Currently looks like it will be fairly easy. I just hope it lets you choose what it launches and won't force SX OS. We'll also have to see...

Hardware Is swapping the shell housing on a Nintendo Switch worth it?

I've done a shell swap. The hardest part will be removing the digitizer and screen without damaging them. The front housing is screwed into the center metal housing from behind the digitizer. You'll also want to get replacement adhesive for the digitizer as it's very hard to get it off cleanly...

Hacking Do you think that hackers will ever take full control of the switch?

Just wanted to point out that yes, this does make a major difference. Just look at 3DS. A9LH was later in the boot process, and thus some things like boot9 and boot11 were locked out by the time a9lh kicked in, making it so you couldn't dump them from a9lh. But with b9s, You can very easily dump...

Hacking ReiNX hasn't been updated yet what should I use in the interim

then you use these https://github.com/Joonie86/hekate/releases Or try one of the nightly ReiNX builds linked above, though stability may be questionable until it is a proper release
