Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Only 2 change, everything the same with rehius code: 1. Modify the d0 voltage checker From 1.8V +- 0.2V To 1.6V +- 0.35V Calculated from the datasheet, read this post https://gbatemp.net/threads/picofly-a-hwfly-switch-modchip.622701/post-10244019 2. Change the power off mechanism After glitch...

Read the link i gave, its high quality article. I forgot whether its the BQ chip or the max chip, that supply the 3.3V. Use the pcb data from xzz, someone have successfully decrypt and made the board view. Just search in gba. Using the boardview, track the line of 3.3V its connected to what...

Have you measured the voltage of the 3.3v volt supplied to the picofly. Its come from the PowerManagement IC. If its short then you might look the trace from the pcb what component might short it. The worst case scenario, the PMIC itself broke. https://www.retrosix.wiki/33v-regulator-checks...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

If you cut it the first time, it will be black screen and no white light. The picofly couldn't communicate with the emmc since theres no clk signal, hence no white light. And the cpu couldn't even run any code since it cannot fetch the code from the emmc, hence black screen. If its really the...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

If you clk trace between emmc and the cpu got cut, not even the cpu could read your emmc, there will be nothing shown, hekate wont run, since the cpu couldn't read the emmc, hence the payload to boot the hekate. There will be only black screen.

If the white appear, then the clk definitely not cut off. Its certainty. Its the synchronization beat in digital world. To communicate (sending/receive 1 or 0) to the emmc you need to be synchronize.

If its really cut then theres will be no white light, since the sync failed. The clock are the basis of sync in digital world. Without it there will be no digital works. In simple words, picofly cannot communicate with the dat0 at all. You'll get different error. The evidence you see the white...

The white light simply the picofly upload some file to the emmc. The file that responsible to load the payload on the microsd. The first time picofly on, it will check couple of thing. And one of it is check whether the 'payload' already exist on emmc. If it is not, then upload the 'payload'...

AFAIR, the BCT is about payload uploaded to the emmc, its before the mosfet glitching. So that could happened. 1735037753 The mosfet jobs are literally short the vcc to the gnd. So thats maybe the first thing to check. 1735037828 Using cheap purple laser and transparent resin usually use for...

Its famous problem for Dat0 flex, as we're all usually meet with that problem, maybe 1 weeks, or 1 month, or 3 month. But someone here said he already installed like 3000 of that flex, without a single problem. So who knows, maybe our skill are not good enough :D.

Could be bad microscope. I also use low quality microscope. 1729769649 Using lower temp on component that might get hot, is kind of risky right?

For me the thing that attached to the dat0 is called "flex pcb" Since you said "i installed ribbon" i thought you called that flex pcb a Ribbon. I assume the ribbon you mean is the one that in the dat0, since you're talking about it.

No, its way before that. Its even before the glitch happened. Its right after the voltage check stage.

To my experience, Dat0 flex are famous to that problem. Second are CLK. Picofly check the voltage on CMD and Dat0. So the voltage are PASS. But it doesn't mean that its free from problem. Both CMD and Dat0 are used to send signal of binary digital (bit). CMD like the name its to control and...
