For small files, it's fine, you can just use GM9, but should you need to convert a 3DS file to CIA that's bigger than what FAT32 allows, you have to do it on a computer and having just tried FOUR different methods with 3 failing miserably and the last only being able to create a file without a header, it really is annoying... Had a 4GB 3DS file and needed to convert it, ended up spending 4 hours trying!

Did you try 3dsconv? I got 3dsconv working on the 3DS itself once, and it worked without a problem. Not sure about the 4G limit though.

I did. Other things I tried were HT9DS, Simple CIA Converter and all those 3 gave me troubles. Finally tried Gabrielo's tool and that one worked properly, although not on the first go but still without a header. What happens when the header is missing exactly? Been a long time since I did that stuff so forgot about what each thing is...

I don't know. But it's very weird that 3dsconv doesn't have >4G support, it's probably a bug.
