Here it's 4cents here for normal size plastic bags, 7-12cents for a bit bigger plastic bags and 65c-1€ for large bags (but that you can reuse). Also, what's a real pain in the ass is that even some takeout joints actually make you pay like 5c for the bags when you order food, but they do their best at putting the delivery in as many bags as possible!>:C

Imagine ordering a pizza and two cans of cola, getting the pizza in one bag and each can of cola in it's own freaking bag!

Thats the plastic bag ban you are seeing. They now charge money for a thicker reusable bag. To reduce plastic bag waste and environment problems. You have to provide your own reusable bags if you don't want to be charged money. Its being applied nation wide.

Kenya's ban is much harsher. Producing, selling and buying plastic bags is illegal and can be up to 4 years of jail or $40,000 fine.
