Why would I ever need to re download if I can just watch straight from the cloud lol. Way easier to rent the storage than pay for a 5TB drive and have it ruined again, and I don't have to deal with my parent's files mucking up my own hdds

Because you can only watch/listen to videos/music, so anything other than those has to be redownloaded. Also, even if you "watch straight from the cloud", it's basically streaming them, so if you don't have a good connection it's a pain and don't forget how you HAVE to even have a connection to use the cloud, so if you happen to not have one, good luck with it
