Playing online with WiFi connection, and Local multiplayer would be cool, though. And maybe an expanded singleplayer campaign.

Ninty is already going away from the Wii U, while focusing on the NX, while the 3DS is "here to stay" (there wouldn't have been a hardware revision otherwise). The 3DS ports are probably a sign of this too, to get people to buy themselves a New 3DS and (soon) an NX.
