Lol yeah, most people use them for that. But since at the time I never owned any handheld console, even before getting a calculator I knew that games were possible on it and I was waiting for the time when I'll get one
Though I was only aware of the built-in language (that is a lot more adapted to maths than games...) and only discovered how to play/make more interesting games two years later.
And actually nope nope, since we now have the TI 82A in France, which is basically a 84+ without assembly support (for the user of course). And the other models are just exactly the same models as in the USA (like the CX, the CX CAS, etc, and just the 84+CE that we have as the 83PCE here, which I think adds exact calculations, but no more power so that's irrelevant for games).
