You seem experienced with doing it. And I've looked it up. It's actually easier than an Xbox mod.
If you get 1 done per week. (Or maybe in less than 3days) you can open your own little Hardmod business :)

lol can you link me to those comparison guides? Because as of right now I have a Corona V1 open for a CR4 XL and several good New 3DS motherboards....I mean, 3 Solder points and a ground for a 3DS in comparison of a Multiple points if not more considering what board your xbox is....

I miss read your comment, even if I did do one a week, Id still get more down in a 3 months span then hundhamer has.... because all we know is hes done two in the past 3 months...

I mean I have never done a 3DS. So I don't know how hard it actually is. The hard part of it is probably doing the Isolation correctly and getting it to look decent. The soldering is a lot easier.
An Xbox doesn't really give you space problems, but has more complicated "actual work".
But yeah an Xbox seems harder to do

cutting for a microusb port isnt really all that bad, the first one you do is but once you get an idea of a location its not. and having a hobby knife soldering iron tip makes cutting the plastic alot easier.

He also didn't handle informing you guys well. It would have helped to share some pictures of what he is currently working on.

If I have time and am prepared to work I can mod an XBox in about 3 to 4 hours.
(Also depends on the board etc)
A 3DS seems fairly straight forward. So it's probably faster. I guess you weren't off by far on the 2h guess.

If you plug the iron in about the time you disassemble it, disassembled and soldered takes around 45mins or so. The rest is reassembly, cutting for the port, and making the adapter.

Ill also add I personally think the N3DS is easier also, because all the internal components are separate from each other giving you more room to route the other wires.

The problem is less how many he's getting done and more about how many users have reported that he's told them theirs is finished and he'll send it out the next day and yet three weeks goes by and they hear nothing. If he was up front and honest about his progress, I don't think there would be any issue, but there has been a fair amount of questionable practices going on.

I guess he didn't handle it well at all. I can understand you guys are pissed. But I have seen pictures of (apparently) his mods and he is mentioned a lot when it comes to hardmods. He really has a name to lose so I don't think he woulf purposely screw you over. So I guess he is just really busy. (You never know though. It is questionable from what you guys say)

Anyway. If you plan on getting your 3DS back and it's not done I assume you'll mod it yourself.
Would be interested in hearing about the results.
If I get around to modding mine at some point (which I probably won't unless I need to) I'll tell you how long it took me.

I understand it can take a while to do mods, but I'd be much more willing to wait if he gave constant updates, updates which other users can confirm. Based on what others have said, he's lied multiple times.

Hm.. I've been tagged. I get that he has his problems but some solid reassurance is due to those of us who have had it out since Feb. thus why I would like some pictures or something. As for the receipts he said he was going to the office yesterday, so it's just more proof that would calm the crowd.

I agree with Elucidate, I don't want to but if it comes down to it (by the end of the month or if DHall goes over there, whatever comes first) I'll have to fill a dispute as well.

I can't speak for any other model, but the n3DSXL is pretty easy to mod. I did a temporary mod with an extra back plate I had, though, so I didn't worry about making it look nice. 2 hours is more than enough time. I guess it comes down to how nice you want it to look because the actual soldering is super quick.
