Ooh, neat! Do any cores support disc readers, though? All I know is that SuperStation one infamously still lacks support for it, or at least that was the case recently

Yeah, all the disc cores are now supported. Easily installable from MiSTer Companion or Update_All!
I hear Amiga CD32 support is coming soon too! We also have CD and DVD playback for music and movies! (You have to specify the cores you want to launch for automatic playback when you insert a disc in your MiSTer.ini file(s). I use the Saturn core as my CD Player, and MiSTer_DVD for movies. Sadly, MiSTer Hi-Fi is a script and not a core, so you have to launch it and choose CD playback manually, but it too is very solid and capable.

Well, that's a very creative use of Saturn core! I guess I got to permanently borrow a more portable CD/DVD drive now
