This is why you dual-boot between Linux and Windows 10 LTSC. Linux doesn't have the best with D3D and forces everything to use the Vulkan video driver which results in half the performance and a lot of frame drops or you end up finding workarounds. Linux won't be the biggest change for gaming, but as more as more people work on Linux to create a much reliable compatibility layer that is easy to setup, then my opinions might've changed by then.
