They're currently facing challenges after there being a huge influx of AI bot traffic continuing to edit articles day-after-day, and they still cannot seem to wrap their head around it and preventing this sort of vandalism on their platform. Yet, they faced similar criticism by contributing to the AI slop bubble by implementing quick AI summaries, which lead to them pulling out after the complaints rolled in.

im going to start taking shots everytime i see a "started by human" company starts implemting generative ai into whatever they're working on. i know that generative ai is okay and all, but the usage everyone is putting to them is starting to actually piss me off. wikipedia started off as a wikipedia made by humans
