Ricken Budgie is okay imho, feels like a GNOME-fied Cinamon, and KDE I never gotten to work on my end. On my main Linux Laptop, I use Fedora Workstation, which is GNOME. I think I am okay with this too since it's the only one besides Fedora KDE that I was able to get KDE Connect to work on there. Prior to this, I used Fedora Cinnamon and for some reason, KDE Connect didn't work on there.
The Budgie and KDE Desktop Environments are both worth looking into (imo). There's Ubuntu flavors of both, if you're hoping to keep apt as your package manager.
