Most likely. A phone isn't able to process a ton of resources faster while using a browser.

I wish Wplace had a dedicated app or something.

Unlikely to happen, mainly due to Google and Apple having certain restrictions on what they allow, and also time and effort to build a single app for this purpose. And who knows how long Wplace would be up for.
