Yes, it's a Filmation cartoon, made as if on an assembly line using various techniques of limited animation. In technical terms, it's completely outdated and primitive compared to today's CGI. But the episode is like a punch in the stomach considering the target audience. Cramming the full, radical message into a 20 minute cartoon surely needed compromises leaving out facets.
