They're about $60 like $2 for 15 pages permonth so it outweighs the cost in subscriptions still if I own it I shouldn't have to subscribe just to use what it's made for

Yeah... offer and demand. If you could just use old printers from 2014 backwards that would be great. Seriously, what's great about new printers that old ones can't already do?

They stop ink production on old ones and force you to buy new I still use scan and the app has the ability to fax which some companies still rely on

Once upon a time you could just refill the cartridge with a syringe, but nowadays the printer be like "nah, I know there's still ink but you've been printing a suspicious amount. I'm shutting down. Renew subscription."

I honestly don't get it. A monthly "plan" for printing!? 700 pages maximum? I've done more on a single day occasionally.
Subscription for printing? That makes zero sense.

Tbf they ship you new ink but how much ink do you really need for 15 pages
