If you're giga desperate for instant boiling water, there are taps that can give it you basically instantly. They are veeeeeeery expensive though. As a cheaper option, why not just buy a kettle? I get that they're not as common in America but they're surely not that expensive?

I pour boiling water into an empty pan, give the pan a little time to heat up, and then just throw in the pasta or whatever I'm cooking. It's definitely been quicker than just putting cold water into a pan and letting it all heat together.

I do that all the time, sometimes when I making sauces they trend to become dry, so I have the kettle boiling to be able to add more boiling water to the sauce and do not lost too much temperature.

Get one of those Japanese Zoji water kettles that keep boiled water for you whenever you need. Life changing for ramen/tea/etc

I got one of the beautiful kettles from ebay on sale for like $10, but the point I'm making is that stoves should have an option like this already built in so we don't need extra appliances.
