Yes, I'm from yesterday. To be honest, this doesn't feel bad.
It STILL works. I can turn on an SNES/PlayStation/Game Boy/Dreamcast... after years and it just loads the game -- without saying "Wait an hour while we install the important updates."

But not all Consoles with Network are "bad"...
PlayStation 2 is good for Game Transfers.
GameCube (damn,this Adapter is so expensive...) is good for Developer and ModChip Programming.
Dreamcast...ok,I never saw this Thing or had any Chance to buy it.....

I have to add that PC gaming has always been irritating for me: Graphics card incompatible! Don't like this driver! Update this component before!
And the major topic I revisited:
SafeDisc rejecting original while accepting CD-R, StarForce killing a WinXP installation, ProtectDISC causing bluescreens and nagging because of non-existent emulators, SecuROM rejecting all CDs in one drive.
Go to hell, DRM makers!

Graphiccard or OS....yesterday I have talked with me Wife about "Die Sims" (the first and the one and only !).
Found a All in One Package and in German.
Guess what we have played last Night under Windows 11 with an RTX 3060.

It must be a cracked version since Sims 1 uses SafeDisc 2 (secdrv.sys) -- this should not work under updated Windows 7/8.1 or under any Windows 10/11.

Hmm...maybe,I found a "sims.exe" in an Folder named "NoCD".....sowas aber auch....

Sims 1 Super-Deluxe - trying to install for the first time. Need serial number?? Medimops sold me a package without manual. Great. I'm legitimate owner and can't install.

Step 2: Put it in PlayStation and turn on the console
Step 3: Play the game!
No updates. No DLC. No network functions. No anything stupid. Just playing a game.
