I think it’s gonna flop because Valve has a history of failed dedicated products. They constantly make something and then just let it rot because Valve is actually kind of lazy.

They do have people working on it that are enthusiastic, that much is clear, but I think the majority of the management is still in that mindset. So yeah, that would definitely be one of the reasons.
