Yeah, but if you see some risque shot of a girl's upskirt, you can roll your eyes and go, "that's so anime". If some buff dude blows up a tank, you can't really go, "that's SO movie!" Anime is great, but it's easy to lump its worst aspects all together

Personally, animated characters give me the heebie-jeebies. Can't stand to see em, even in drawing form. Activates my flight or fight response and I wake up days later in a different country.
