I would get the original personally

Depends on what stuff. Personally I prefer the Lite due to its portability. Really, my only problem with the Lite is its lack of dockability, and perhaps the lack of the vibration coils, but the latter doesn't bother me at all.

I guess if you really know that you will never want to play on TV, and lack of vibration doesn't bother you at all, I guess go for the Lite.

But it still depends on what you want to trade for it. Getting a Switch might not be worth if you value the things you want to trade in too much. And the Lite is not hackable without a modchip, and the prices for a crappy first-edition hackable Switch are stupid, for how bad the initial hardware is compared to the revised one.

The lite is smaller, but for me neither are portable since neither fit in your pocket. And given ninty's issues with joycon drift I would pick the one without built in sticks for ease of repair.

Mine are pretty abused, but other than stick wiggle, mine luckily don't drift at all still. I have every issue with my non-Lite red-box Switch, except Con-Joy drift.

alright so i would be getting it for 200 (reduced by 60-100) used (very good condition and testable) and would be trading in my 2ds, the minishcap + fire red (which equal 100 canadian in trade in), my dsi with totally working shoulder buttons, my gameboy color and 2 in box 3ds games (monster hunter 4 and xenoblade). the thing is, that i dont use these items

No way, hold onto all that awesome stuff and wait til you get money later.

well im thinking that i might not have to trade in my 2ds or my gbc because i think i already got enough there

Honestly if it were me I would wait til Christmas or something so I didn't have to get rid of my stuff.

I sold my copy of fire red about 10 years ago along with some other awesome stuff I had and I still regret it.

the thing is that my gba is the original one and its hard to play, so other than just being given the games and that i dont care about them, my parents think that switches are pretty dumb and i should get a new gpu or smth, so i might as well because this is basically my only opportunity, and covid is making jobs pretty hard to find

How much does a new Lite cost? Getting one for 200$ used sounds like one of the worst deals possible, ESPECIALLY for all the stuff you'd give to them. For all those stuff I'd expect to get the Lite for FREE, especially if used.

its usually 275 CANADIAN with taxes making it 300 so its a discount for sure

I will say this. It seems you already made up your mind before you asked for advice. So follow your heart. But I'm just giving you my advice as someone who regretted similar decisions. Only you can decide :P

Well I'll say this, if you barely have the money to get the switch lite right now - then you probably don't have money to get games either. So consider whether you'll even get to play it much if you get it now.

who are you trading this stuff into btw? How much are they giving you per item - make sure you're not getting screwed.
