Both these softwares are closed source so you cannot modify its code. At least you can try to adapt Big Red Menu to a DAT hb but DAT hbs has no SDMC access i think.

Oh :/ But gateway and mt launchers are both Launcher.dat and they have sd access. Backup/Restore NAND, Games, Saves, Emunand formatting, etc.
