Be sure to get some protective case for it if you do get one, top screen is very fragile, the new 2DS XL is unfortunately from the time when Nintendo's hardware quality started getting much worse.

Oh no, it's the DS Lite all over again. I treated mine so carefully but the hinge snapped anyway. Thank you for the heads up. Are there any you'd recommend?

There's an official Pokemon Pikachu one if you're into that. Haven't seen any other ones. For carrying it around I would also recommend some small carrying bag, I heard some stories about that fragile top screen being crushed by other things in a pocket or bag.

Maybe you could invest in old DSes and DS lites, I feel like they are starting to get more rare and more expensive. Or maybe that's just in my country.
