That would have required people to have actually taken seriously and not have people doing stupid shit like refusing to social distance, wearing a mask, or other stupid stuff.
It would require not believing everything being done is somehow an attack on freedom, listening to experts, and taking time to understand the issue over attempting to downplay it.
Tyranny, as you say, is caused by selfish assholes. Everyone pay the toll for idiots, and of course as soon as the idiots feel cornered they will claim their freedom rights (read: being egocentric assholes) or believe everything that agrees with their beliefs, just to have the last word.
.Kind of wish this was just like the tide pods situation, at least in such case natural selection of breeding by survival of the less stupid individual wouldn't cause a massive amount of collateral damage to innocents.
So yes, as long as you keep your head up your ass with your elementary school level of barn education, there will be tyranny, because cooperation and compassion is a virtue so rare I doubt the human race will live part the century at this rate.
There’s a lot of factors involved with that study and a lot brought up that only suggests that it requires more cooperation. Part of the study found that wearing a mask isn’t very effective if others aren’t wearing mask. Which means that without cooperation, you are still at risk. Other words, wear a damn mask and stupid pretending being asked to care about others is some attack on your freedom
Don't worry Lilith, one day or another karma will do its job, unfortunately at the cost of even more "tyranny" and human losses. Feels bad to wish bad times to someone but then again it's impossible to change your mind without a good reason for it.
Don't worry ultra when you crawl on the floor most reasonable people will be happy to help you regardless of how your deluded perfect little world forged you
Honestly, I wish he would understand that his mindset is the reason why the pandemic isn't getting any better. That because people believe these kinds of nonsense, we have anti-maskers and shit. Measures to deal with a pandemic are both scientifically and historically proven to be effective.
I just kind of hope maybe he might understand that maybe it's actually his "political" views that might actually be the problem here. That I am not an enemy because I care about others.
And we all know historically what happened to these kind of people. Usually their life expectancy is shorter, and not because of being in danger of getting beaten up, that is getting at their level.
I could be republican, hardcore Christian (isn't the Christianity virtue to be compassionate and helping everyone?) And still know how resisting authority by egoism is the worst of everything.
Protecting strangers also means protecting myself. Caring about the well being of others means preventing the spread of a disease that not only effects those strangers but also the people you and I both care about. Just because I don't know someone, doesn't mean their life isn't important to me and those who do know them.
