I have a combined drive space throughout all my internal and external HDDs of about 98TBs, I have a LOT of stuff and why would I delete games or shows just because I finished them once? I archive them and rewatch many of them often... Plus the 16TBs alone are Vocaloid stuff, so yeah
You think I can afford to re-download every single thing I want to re-watch or re-play when my average internet download speed is like 200KB/s? I just store them on a drive and simply connect it to my PC whenever I want the stuff, MUCH faster than taking DAYS for just one game or ~3 hours for a movie...
We have fiber here, just on VERY select "routes", making 1% of the country have ridiculously fast internet and 99% getting 1.4MBs TOPS at super pricy rates, it's depressing really... On a good day I'll have like 600KB/s, but most of the time I'm at around 180KB/s and on bad days I only get like 25KB/s :/
Really wish speeds here were better, jealous of other countries;~; When I went to Japan years back it was like a different world for example with their average of 400MB/s speeds often topping to 495-895MB/s, it gave me the dilemma of "do I go out or stay in and enjoy the internet?" lol
If you go again, take some TBs there lol. I'm jealous as well, my speeds are fine at 12 on average, but we still have ridiculous data caps so GB is expensive.
Last time I went I downloaded 65TBs worth of stuff in a WEEK, then spend second week enjoying the scenery Unfortunately I had to come back, Oita sure was nice...
Not all, many places have average or bad internet, but most of the big cities have really good speeds. Only been to Oita, some places in the Kanto region and Sapporo, so can't talk about the rest, but the lowest I've seen there was in a place in Oita where it was like 18MB/s down, which is still really good!
It's not the movies or games downloads that I would worry about, like breaking into networks, downloading encrypted things, spying on network traffic. I have seen so many "Top Secret" seals on files when I was a kid
I was obsessed with finding UFOs, a surprising amount of US files where stashed on computers in other countries, China back in the early 90s omg sooo much
