Or other annoying things like just a blue dot instead of an actual number for new videos for subscribed channels when there are new videos out and so on!

It changed for me like 7 days ago and just can't get used to it. Normally I have a habit of clicking at the center of the bottom bar in videos in fullscreen to make sure mouse is focused on the video itself (so Space can be used for pausing), but they put a stupid "Scroll for more" button there now so every time it pauses the video and scrolls down while still in fullscreen!

Basically what fullscreen now does is instead of hook the video on the screen it just hides the browser stuff (address/tab bars, etc.) and enlarges the page to fit a fullscreen, meaning now accidentally scrolling on the mouse moves the display and so on on top of the annoying button they put! Who even thought that was a good idea?:/

ON TOP of that, only the top 7 subscriptions are shown at the sidebar and you have to click on a button they put to show all the rest while replacing the really useful grey number it used to have showing how many new videos each channel has with a useless blue dot that only shows whether there are new videos but not how many...

And that's only a fraction of the shit they changed, even comment section changed trying to make it look more compact but failed and same goes for notifications

You can still click on the bottom of the video, as long as you don't do it right on that little arrow, so slightly to the right is OK. just a heads up.

These changes are pretty old for me and I've gotten used to them. I actually welcome the sidebar change because the previous layout made it really laggy for me.
Also, pro tip: you can use K to pause a video whether or not it's focused.

While you can still click at the bottom, for whatever reason even when a good fourth of the bar away it will somehow still pause the video and scroll down which is annoying.
Changes for me came in effect last week, never had an issue with old layout despite being subbed to like 300 channels and K for me only works if video is in focus, just like Space, so yeah...

Huh, that's weird. For me it's just a centimeter in the middle which will pause and scroll. And the rest is perfectly fine to click... I just tried it.

I know, that's the thing, for me it sometimes works like intended (half centimeter in center) while most of the time it scrolls down even if I click a good 5 cm away from the arrow and it's annoying:/ I just don't get why they even added that thing honestly...

I just found a weird workaround to hide the arrow. You can block it manually using AdBlock.

That surprisingly worked, thanks, no more annoyances now past the blue dots instead of numbers!

You can go back to the old old layout on desktop by editing a cookie
ThoD
ThoD
True, but it then changes back as soon as you change pages because it's stupid and auto-refreshes the cookies... Biggest issue I have right now is how I'm getting a TON more video adds instead of the small one you can close at the bottom of the video, so I have to wait to skip and then I keep getting a popup for "Youtube Premium" for no more ads, so that's a thing now...

You don't use adblock in this day and age?

Also there might be a chrome/firefox extension to change back to old Layout

@grey72 He probably just doesn't want to deny people's ad revenue

I don't use adblock just because I want to support creators without actually paying. If it's just a small add I can close with 1 click, why would I bother using adblockers? Also, adblockers have two main functions, blocking ads and blocking popups, the latter done natively on Firefox anyways, so even less reason to use one:P
