Recent updates have included implementing saves & settings on a per game basis, rather than per cart (for flashcart compatibility), screenshots, and save states. Now 3Dos firmware update 1.5.0 adds horizontal internal upscaling. And it's pretty great.
I've got a big road trip starting Thursday morning and lasting until Sunday, so I probably will wait to really enjoy this. But the A3D started out as a bit of an indulgent wtf purchase, since I've already got plenty of original N64 hardware, and to my surprise it's turned into some of the best money I've spent on gaming in a long time.
