    Yeah, only way for me was to make sure I never played the game whilst connected to the 'net. Just uninstall and then reinstall and you should be ok. It's a while since I played DOT so there many be a way to update, someone more knowledgeable than me could probably answer that one.

    I've been playing it for 20 minutes now and it seems ok and saving/loading works. I did hit the home button to pause the game briefly and when I returned to the game the sound had become distorted. In future I will just hit the START button to pause. I had forgotten what a fun game it is :)
