    I just wondered if maybe going in the recovery mode somehow has more access to not just user-side exploits or something. But I do also wonder if there's an actual RCM that could be found through messing with data. but if it wasn't found after version 1 of switch, I'm not holding out for now.

    That's actually fair, which in that case lots of people are making the assumption from not having seen the box (including me). We'll see. In that case though, I think someone wouldn't have to update, since I find switch 1 games aren't the most important.

    It's likely not just for switch 1, but people don't have switch 2 games to test. Not sure what you mean with 'same thing' for update 2.0.0

    It's not a fun trend to see. I don't care if other systems like ps5 have done something like it for the disc drive, I want things to be functional without internet.
