Hacking N3DS: black screen + blue light, unsure where I left off

Thanks. Should this be possible given the .. seemingly bricked state of my system?

Hacking N3DS: black screen + blue light, unsure where I left off

Hey all. Some time ago, I want to say around 2016 or 2017, I bricked my N3DS I believe by accidentally updating my SysNAND instead of EmuNAND via system updated. I was in the wrong env and accidentally updated SysNAND thinking I was in EmuNAND. Unfortunately, this is all I know. The console...

Hardware Questions about Nyko Pro Commander; does it work in Wii mode?

I can't seem to find any solid answers on this. I know the Nyko Pro Commander is supposed to be a WiiU Pro controller replacement http://www.nyko.com/products/product-detail/?name=Pro%20Commander What I'm wondering is, does it act like a WiiU Pro controller, or does it sync as a Classic...

Hacking Coding vWii 3-core support - everything you need to know.

Or maybe vWii can be modified to add these enhancements itself? I guess it's a leap to go from accessing extra hardware to patching the vWii software itself to render at a higher resolution/add IQ enhancements.

Thanks for the detailed response! The possibilities do seem pretty wide, if the team can crack open the WiiU and gain access to the extra hardware in vWii mode. Also, the bug in your signature made me poke at my screen a few times. :)

Hacking Coding vWii 3-core support - everything you need to know.

I mean..if the WiiU is inherently much faster hardware (at least 3x the amount of processing power with 3 cores, right? I'm not sure on the specifics), and I'm assuming a much more powerful graphics chip, alongside a wider memory bus/more RAM...shouldn't it theoretically be possible to implement...

Hacking Coding vWii 3-core support - everything you need to know.

So, does the WiiU and Wii share the same architecture? If we got access to 3 cores and full WiiU hardware in vWii mode, could that mean implementing upsampling/IQ improvements in vWii for Wii games (not necessarily backed up/pirated, could be retail discs), at the cost of stability? I can't...

Hacking Coding vWii 3-core support - everything you need to know.

Ah. Well, I understand the mechanics of having multiple cores/threads, but does this do anything to the actual vWii console functionality? Can games run better? Or is this only useful if you want to run Linux in vWii mode? Would vWii even be able to run games any better using 3 cores? Thanks...

Hacking Coding vWii 3-core support - everything you need to know.

I'm new to this thread/forum, just read the initial post. While the technical details seem dandy, they elude me. Can someone explain, in more layman terms, why 3-core vWii support is significant, and what can be done with it?

    Tutorial Full vWii Softmod

10-4. I was actually fairly impressed with Xenoblade Chronicles when I popped it in with vWii mode yesterday. My only previous experience with it had been on Dolphin with HD/4X Sample and AA/AF. It actually looked good on vWii on my TV/GamePad.

    Tutorial Full vWii Softmod

Interesting! I've just been assuming my TV was resetting to 480p, but I haven't checked what kind of signal I'm getting.

I thought vWii mode ran at 480p?

    Hacking Wii U Update 4.0.2

I understand it's no easy task, but virtualization has tricked client systems into interpreting host commands however they want for a long time. I understand it's hard, but I'm assuming vWii is running virtualized in the WiiU environment. This means the WiiU environment must be capable of...

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
