    Now the iPod may work again. If not then it did not help... A 'removable' drive without a storage volume is virtually impossible under Windows. Have you installed Trueimage Home 2009? The first version is known to cause such problems. If not you can check for filter drivers...

    Checked the USBDLM log again... You had attached the iPod too. It comes up with an USB device and a DISK device (as usual). But there is no storage volume. You can try to remove all non present storage volumes for the device manager. This helps in some situations...

    Perfect :-) You have attached an 1 GB "Lexar Jumpdrive Secure". Windows assigned letter H:\, USBDLM used section [DriveLetters]. Since there are no letters defined in [DriveLetters], USBDLM was happy with H:\ and showed the ballon with "mounted to H:\". Was H:\ not visible in the Windows...

    If a letter can be added thru the disk management then USBDLM should be able to do so too. Maybe I see in the log file what the problem is. [Settings] WriteLogFile=1 LogLevel=4 LogFile=C:\_USBDLM.LOG After restarting the service, USBDLM writes a log into C:\_USBDLM.LOG. Uwe
