    Thank you for all your replies :D helped me a bunch saved me some time. but my gateway cart can only play card 2 types I almost forgot I converted mines so looks like no save transfer. But Oh well at least I can start over and get the DLC now!

    yes I understand that and I have done that with plenty of games as I said I am having this spi error and I cannot run card 1 games without getting the game card not found screen so I am asking is it possible to play online if I convert to card 2 type

    Okay I'm trying to play super smash bros I think I have the correct rom, my question is would I be able to play online if I change the card type to Card 2 the spi on my card is not working so I can't play card 1 games

    No just everytime you play smash you will have to boot into gateway mode then play, whenever u reset the 3ds you will have to repeat the process. settings/other settings/profile/nintendo ds profile

    U can only use the current firmware games and online features in gateway mode

    I have rom patcher I have been trying to use it to add a header to the mk7 rom I downloaded, but it hasn't been working online I get the 002-0123 error. When you say scene release is that referring to a downloaded rom or an actual gamecart dump.
