    The button feels normal when pressing it. I bought it April 2015 (new). I contacted nin and they told me, that there is a high chance that I will keep my data. But their repair form says I have to backup everything (ha-ha). I will check out, how to open it. Just in case I will buy a new rubber...

    Well, not sure if you can buy cover plates for the XL. The normal n3ds has "build-in" support for that. One option could be a decal. If you need more information, just PM me.

    Just noticed, my PSD file is only bigger than this jpg and it has no layers... I only used PS to clean up the image.

    Yes, only the n3ds can change the covers. Maybe there is a shop which offers custom decals. I could provide you my psd files, if you need them.

    Afaik the first request to nasc.nintendowifi.net is to log you in and get a token. The 3ds is doing this on many parts. But more I have not figured out. (I'm trying to get the data from the friend list)
