    okay im in uncertain waters with my wii u recovery so i swapped in new external hard drive (couldnt find exact model as the page was years old), but when i put in new drive to format (as test) it tried detecting for like 45 minutes with no luck. so im not sure if were in a case of usb ports...

    Had separate power cable for years and the enclosure still has the blue power light. So I don't think its a power issue, I think its a corruption or dying drive issue . So WFS tools in theory can be used to dump the contents of older drive to new drive ? Got a new external hard drive yesterday...
