    I'm pretty sure that this tutorial refers to an external microphone. (A "plug in" microphone or headset) If it's your normal (Internal) microphone that's faulty this will not help. You can replace the internal mic. fairly cheaply but involves opening the DS case.

    Yes. NDS has a seperate cable which plugs into top screen and mainboard. NDSLite has an integrated cable in the top screen.

    Check out the video tutorials by supermodchips stickied at top of this forum. Obviously you have to be reasonably quick when soldering, to avoid heat damage to the cable, but it's really not as hard as you might think. Use flux if you have it. Good luck.

    Most likely cause would be a blown F1 Fuse. Easy fix if you have soldering experience. Check here for more info.

    Just a quick update in case anyone else has the same problem. I finally manged to complete the update and now have a fully functioning 360. Downloaded all of the dasboard updates( 12 different) and tried one by one(via USB) until I found the one that worked.

    You probably have a blown F1 fuse. Good article here on blown fuses. Require basic soldering skills otherwise pretty simple repair. Good luck

    Yes. It's called the power switch. Very cheap at DX and pretty easy to solder in place BUT be careful removing the old broken swith as you can easily damage the M/B.

    Diskcheck can also be disabled with the sakura system settings. press 'B' to get to root folder level then press 'start' to access menu. Go into 'GUI Settings' and uncheck 'Always run diskcheck when booting' option.
