    I just tried removing the battery, plugging it into the wall, and booting but it won't power on that way. I don't think that is supposed to work anyway. When it is plugged in with the battery I get an orange charging light but it is still not responsive. I also tried the Failsafe boot method...

    Yes, sorry I wasn't specific. I tried it again, just now to be sure. I tried booting with Start+Select held down with a commercial game in Slot-1, my AceKard 2.1 in Slot-1, and a flash cart (alone) in Slot-2. Each time I held down Start+Select for around 10 seconds. All I get is the power...
