    Where are you downloading the update data from? Do you have file name extensions enabled on your PC? Make sure it's not named to ps3updat.pup.pup as that could be a possibility which then it won't be seen as applicable update data.

    Figured I would drop a comment to say I have figured out the issue and it seems to be a dead emmc. One of the switch systems I installed a mod chip into gives me a blink code stating emmc initialization has failed. Checked a second donor emmc and it boots without issue into hekate.

    I had hella issues with a few I ordered from Ali. Both 2.5 and 3.5 enclosures. Look up "Orico 2.5 enclosure" on Google or Amazon. I use those for the systems I sell and have had really good luck with their brands. They've got a clear one on Amazon for like $8 USD. Works like a charm.
