    i had the same problem, and did the trick suggested to me where you insert the acekard until it clicks into place... and then use your fingernail to slide it out of the slot like a fraction of a millimeter... never froze again on me after i did that. The paper trick did not work for me...

    You'll know immediately. Put the acekard in your DS XL, select it at the menu, and it will immediately give you a message saying that your DS has encountered an error and needs to reboot. If it does that, you're running a 1.3 acekard and need to patch it to 1.4 in the previously mentioned way.

    as someone who just had the problem yesterday : 1) The acekard i ordered from Gamekool that arrrived 2 days ago was still running v1.3 on it. Your DS XL is running 1.4 and it won't work out of the box. Follow the instructions on the wiki about flashing the card - you have to dig up a DSI...
