    I was able to use wupinstaller for install many things (game updates, games, and the version spoof). I ask if it is safe to try to install the vios in this way as I'm being very careful of confirming each thing before I try.

    I'm spoofed to 5.5.1. Is confirmed that the spoofing prevent the on disc update or is it only to play online? Anyway I'm trying to get a dics with an update and will report back about.

    I remember reading that too, but here blaze5 was able to solve this same problem doing a disc update with star fox zero: https://gbatemp.net/threads/install-vwii-ios-58-without-homebrew-channel-or-ios-236.451048/#post-6928264 Maybe the disc update does not work on version spoofed systems like mine?
