    Hacking INSTINCT-NX Chip

You need to attach the USB adapter and connect to the board using e.g. Putty. Then you can view diagnostic messages and also execute available commands including resetting the chip.

    Hacking INSTINCT-NX Chip

If it works, why update? I personally believe that there will be no new software. Instinct supports standard serial communication that enables diagnostic and reset it to default settings to start learning from scratch: just in case there are glitch issues but I don't know if that will be...

Instinct doesn't need any special treatment.Just follow very good guide: https://switchway.net/

It works fine. Also no problem with the pcb solder points "grounding" phenomenon at all (shorting to ground while soldering cables to pcb) .

Picofly (RP2040) OLED getting error Failed to init eMMC. But with HWFLY working fine.

sthetix wrote about it in comment sections: or unverified and damaged payload while writing embedded payload on emmc?

They are back in the official store: both black and white PCB version.

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Non standard for sure. It should have a "claws" to make a solid contact with emmc ball/pin. I dont see it on the picture, only some tinned area.

rp2040 is not an instinct-nx but picofly. there is new black version of instinct-nx that is using gd32f arm

BTW did anyone tested and succeded using new black-version of instinct-nx with oled?

@LPRM if you press vol up & vol down it boots to OFW also? Did you try to retrain it (r-option)? Your diode values in your other post are fine. Maybe CPU soldering, RST connection or FPCB are bad?

in mine it was ~0.3 and ~0.7 on the other side (resistor next to CMD point)

what's the reading in the diode mode on both sides of CMD resistor?

If I remember correctly, probably it's a good value. But...if you measure it on pcb then it is the resistance of the path all-around this CMD 4k7, not the resitance of the resitore itself (the other path has lower resistance so you cant measure it in this case).

Switch oled Short on "A" / "CMD"

Did you reball it before when mounting the D adapter? On the other side of the CMD resistor is Soc. check both pads: which one has a short. From emmc side in diode mode is around 360 for Hynix, from Soc side (pointA) 700.

It's connected to emmc. Maybe nand is a problem? What is your emmc model?
