    Though, I did manage to solder some little ground "straps" to the center connections of the chips, nothing got fixed. The straps were stripped out of an IDE cable, with a tiny section of the rubber left to hold the strands together. The voltage regulators are also grounded to the board directly...

    The IC's are 'linear voltage regulators' (LDO), and the center joint is the ground. It also acts to dissipate heat, and apparently burns like a fuse when it gets too hot. Also, discontinued production since 2014. I found a datasheet but need more postcount to post the link. The One S that I...
